JOHANNESBURG - The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) has confirmed it’s reached an agreement in principle with platinum mining companies Lonmin, Anglo American and Impala.
The union and the mining bosses have reached a settlement over wages and other employment conditions following a lengthy three-month negotiation process. Amcu President Joseph Mathunjwa says they will now be consulting with their members and details of the agreement will be made public next week.“We’ll be consulting with the relevant structures, which will lead to a central mass meeting to confirm the mandate with the members.”(Edited by Zamangwane Shange)
